    What is Involved with your Technology?
  • ManeGain has developed a Hair Rejuvenation system that combines three technologies to help restore your scalp and hair follicles and regrow your hair: Low Lever Light Therapy (LLLT), Photonics (visible light), and Magnetic Pulses (MP). The low level laser therapy (650nm, 5nW red lasers) detaches the DHT (dihydrotestosterone) that is attached to the hair follicle and is the primary cause of hair loss. Initially, DHT reduces the strength and diameter of each hair follicle, resulting in increasingly thinner hair. Over time, DHT builds up in the hair follicle cells and signals them to “turn off.” This in turn causes the hair follicle to atrophy and constricts blood flow to and from the hair follicle, resulting in hair loss. To correct the effects of this this atrophy once the DHT is removed, visible light is used to strengthen, revitalized, and rejuvenate skin cells and magnetic pulse therapy is used to increase blood flow. Magnetic pulse therapy has been used for over 40 years to increase blood flow and circulation.

    Does Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) really Work?
  • The FDA has approved the use of LLLT in the treatment and remediation of hair loss in men and women. There are over 15 years of studies involved in the treatment of male patterned baldness using LLLT, and on January 18, 2007, the FDA approved the use of an LLLT device to stimulate and promote hair growth. Clinical trials have shown a 93% success rate with an average of 19 new terminal hairs per square centimeter increase, as well as an increase in hair thickness and tensile strength. ManeGain’s additional use of visible light and EMP will improve the success rate over 93% and maximize the effects of LLLT with hair thickness and tensile strength.

    Is it safe?
  • The FDA has approved 650mW, 5nm red lasers as safe and effective devices for the treatment of hair loss. In addition, there are no detrimental effects of magnetic pulses (a magnetic field) on the human body. The magnetic pulse generated only penetrates about 10 nanometers into the skin and does NOT pass past the skull. The light sources used are in the visual spectrum and do NOT include uVA or uVB light. Finally, there are no contra-indicators when combining lasers, visible light or magnetic pulse therapy.

    How much Time is needed to see any Results?
  • Since hair grows so slowly (as slowly as 1/10th an inch per month if you are over 40 and 1/4th of an inch under 20), you should not see any results for 8 weeks if you have hair loss. You should be clearly able to determine if your hair is growing by 12 weeks.
  • If you are looking to see thickening of the hair follicle, results can be as little as 6 weeks. With thickening hair, you will only see an improved thickness on the part of the hair that is coming out of the follicle due to the ManeGain System strengthening and widening the hair follicle aperture (opening).

    How much Total Time is needed until the full Rejuvenation is Effective?
  • You will need to continue your bi-weekly (twice a week) sessions for 6 months (50 sessions total) for the total benefit of the ManeGain Hair Rejuvenation process to be effective. After that time, you will only have to undergo treatment every 6 to 8 weeks for a 30-minute session in order to maintain the benefits of your 26 week program.

    What Guarantee is offered for this Procedure?
  • ManeGain, in cooperation with our Hair Salon, Day Spa, and Beauty Spa partners guarantees that you will see hair rejuvenation between 10 and 14 weeks or your money back! There is a caveat that you cannot miss any two sessions per week during the initial warranty period and cannot be undergoing activities that will lessen the chance of hair growth. Prior to starting your regrowth therapy, you will meet with a hair specialist to review all the documentation and what are the procedures involved with the ManeGain Restoration Process.

    How is your Product Different from other LLLT systems?
  • First, most other LLLT systems use a stationary laser that only concentrates the coherent light on one part of the scalp. Essentially, due to the properties of coherent light, the lasers miss some parts of the hair follicle. The ManeGain solution sweeps across your entire scalp, enabling the laser to attack the DHT deposits from multiple angles. In addition, ManeGain is the only company that adds the healing and restorative benefits of visible light (photonics) and magnetic pulses to aid in the rejuvenation of the hair follicles and increase blood flow and circulation to them. Combined, these three energies help accelerate your hair regrowth.

    Why am I Going Bald?
  • The main reason for men’s hair loss is a male hormone called DHT (DiHydro Testosterone)*.  Naturally produced DHT builds up in the fat around a hair follicle and constricts the blood vessels and the resulting blood flowing to it. It also chemically signals the hair follicle cells to “turn off.” As a result, the hair follicle does not get enough nourishment and the hair becomes thin and finally drops off. Eventually the follicle literally starves to death.
  • DHT is very important in making a man a man and not a woman, and it is important not to destroy it, just limit its effects on the hair follicle.
  • Chemical or drug solutions to lessen the effect of DHT at the hair follicle can affect it elsewhere in the body. These affects include feminizing results on a man. Both Rogaine® and Propecia® can have this and other side effects** and use of these treatments should be considered with caution.
  • When too much DHT is produced in one area of the scalp, it will slowly spread throughout the skin. This is why balding typically spreads out in a circle.

    What form of Certification are there on the ManeGain Hair Restoration System?
  • This is a yes and no answer.  No formal certification from the FDA or any other part of the Medical Community is required to own, operate, or sell the services of a ManeGain Hair Restoration System other than local ordinances under normal business conditions. The FDA has already approved the use of the lasers employed in our system, and there are no harmful effects of visible light so nothing else is needed there.
  • There is Certification available from ManeGain to assure quality of operation and use of the ManeGain Hair Restoration System. The Company issues an Operations Management Certificate and a ManeGain Operators Certificate for one or more persons who will recommend or operate the ManeGain Hair Restoration Unit after training is completed.

    How does the ManeGain Hair Restoration System handle different degrees of Balding?
  • There are 12 types or stages of balding in men, and 5 types in women. Since the ManeGain Restoration Therapy diffuses its three forms of energy to the whole scale and hair follicles, and because all your hair is experiencing some form of hormonal stress, we do NOT use a calibration chart to set the ManeGain Restoration Unit for each particular type of balding pattern. The ManeGain Therapy will progressively rejuvenate all your hair follicles depending on what state they are in until total hair regrowth is achieved.

    What is the danger of using lasers?
  • The lasers employed in the ManeGain Hair Restoration System are special, solid-state devices know as a Low-Level Lasers (LLL). These lasers are categorized by the FDA as Class-III devices and are certified for use without protective glasses or lenses.
  • These lasers present no danger to the skin. The whole idea behind using lasers is to lessen the effects of DHT on the hair follicle. Safety is maintained by keeping the power output of each laser diode to under 5mW (milliwatt). Too strong of a laser will destroy the hair follicle. High power lasers (1,000 times more powerful than what we are using) are used in laser hair removal.
  • In the ManeGain Hair Restoration Unit, each laser operates at a 650nm (nanometer) wavelength and has its own individual controller/regulator to assure precise photon (light) delivery and power levels.

    What sort of compliance do you have concerning Insurance and Regulations (UL, CSA, EU and the FDA)?
  • Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for hair restoration and regrowth is acknowledged by the FDA as a non-invasive technology employing low-level lasers below the power levels specified by FDA regulation. As the type and use of the lasers in ManeGain Hair Restoration Unit all comply with FDA standards, regulations, and guidelines: there is no user or owner FDA related issues.
  • The ManeGain Hair Restoration System is a standard electrical appliance for professional use, and would be consider no different than your hairdryer or vibrating chair. The unit is UL and CSA approved, uses standard 120-volt AC power out of wall socket, and is fully fused and controlled for power surges internally.
  • The client is isolated from the machine by a plastic barrier and there are not parts accessible to either the client or operator. Unique to the ManeGain Hair Restoration System is the Sanitation Shield between the user’s head and the lasers inside. To comply with FDA rules about HIV sanitation, this plastic shield is wiped down with an alcohol “wipe” after every use.

    *The full name for this compound is 5alpha-DiHydroTestosterone and is formed in the prostate and adrenal glands, the testes, and hair follicles.  It belongs to a class of compounds called Androgens and is part of the biology of male gender, it is one of the compounds that stimulates and controls masculine characteristics.  It is roughly 3 times more potent that testosterone, crucial to virilzation, and quite necessary in limiting estrogen’s effects in men.

    ** Which include difficulty breathing, closure of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue or face, hives, chest pain, loss of libido, and possible male breast enlargement.  If you take either of these drugs and have anything like the above-mentioned problems you should seek a Doctor’s council immediately.
